Who We Are
In recognition of the necessary support of the environment in Jordan with a special focus on waste reduction and support of organic systems of production the Organic Fertilizers Eco Systems Association was founded on 27th November 2019.
OFES established close relationships with the ministries of environment, agriculture, labour and local administration as well as private businesses and marketing providers and international organizations (e.g. GIZ, ICU, World Bank, EU).
OFES is partner for GIZ to support household and small scale compost marketing, implementation partner for trainings in SWM in Irbid and Karak governorate for ICU and leading partner of SWM incubation program with ISSF for the upcoming 3 years.
Also we are planning to reach the following in our close future:
Supporting the Standardization
Process of production and treatment of compost from small scale and household facilities up to facilities on industrial level.
Promoting
Awareness
Of the municipalities and citizens about opportunities to reduce waste, especially organic waste and how biowaste and organic waste can be used.
Capacity
building
Of female “eco system ambassadors” to create awareness of the society for environmental sustainability through waste reduction and upscaling.
Support Female Business
Development for small and medium scale compost and organic Fertilizer producers (incubators etc.)
Cooperation in Branding
Of the product through creating a brand name, marketing, and packing of the produced organic fertilizer.
SUPPORT ALL PRODUCDERS
Support of all organic waste producers, organic fertilizer producers and organic fertilizer users including building awareness of all stakeholders, public and private, to implement unified standards for organic fertilizers in Jordan according to international requirements.
Creating and supporting pilot measures in the eco system such as capacity building of female “eco system ambassadors” to create awareness of the society for environmental sustainability through waste reduction and upscaling and promote employment through support especially female business development for small and medium scale compost and organic fertilizer producers (incubators etc.)
